Here at Westview, we believe music is a gift from God, and we actively use it to glorify His name. Our services offer a traditional approach to worship, but incorporate contemporary style as well.

Opportunities to be Involved

There is something for every music-lover to be involved in, whether it involves singing His praise through song, playing instruments in worship, or leading one of our performing groups.

Preschool Choir:
Preschool choir is open to children ages 3-pre-Kindergarten. The choir meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Sunday School wing off of the choir room. Lisa Smith and Pam Hamrick direct the choir. This group of energetic preschoolers can often be heard making a joyful noise not only with their voices, but also with tambourines and many other instruments as well. The group performs as often as possible, usually on a monthly basis in our morning worship services. They also participate in Christmas and Easter celebrations as well.

Children's Choir:
Children's choir is open to children in 1st through 5th grades. The choir meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the choir room. Carol Barnes and Lynn Houser lead the choir with help from assistants. The choir room is always filled with excitement when these children begin praising God. During a rehearsal, one will find them doing many things including learning Bible verses, studying music theory, dancing around the room to a silly song, and of course, singing. The choir performs as often as possible, usually on a monthly basis in our regular worship services. They also participate in the Easter production, and perform their own Christmas musical each Christmas.

Adult Choir:
The Adult choir is open to all musicians from high school and older. The group leads in worship each Sunday with an anthem or praise song. They are also the main group of participants in our Easter and Christmas Musicals. They typically sing various types of music, including Southern Gospel, Traditional anthems, Contemporary praise songs, and Spirituals. The Adult choir meets each Wednesday evening at 7:45 in the choir room.

Handbells:
The Handbell Choir is open to all adults. They practice regularly each Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the choir room. Handbells play at least quarterly and for special occasions. This group of talented musicians has attended Handbell conferences and festivals, and is excited about leading in worship.
Drama Team:
The Drama team is primarily a youth organization, but is open to all adults who are interested. The group rehearses on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 in the choir room. They perform skits in the worship service, and assist with the Christmas and Easter musicals of the church.
